The Crossing

from Sail Pattern by Sail Pattern

/
  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

Sail Pattern don't just write songs, they also design all of their album artwork and carefully piece it together into a tastefully designed physical CD. For those with legacy cars (us included), good sound systems or just a penchant for reality, this will be a fabulous purchase.

After each show, we are swamped with people buying copies of our album, and usually forcing us to sign them!

You, as a proud citizen of planet Earth, can now own a slice of our work, from sounds to ink.

Ten tracks of wonderfully produced roots rock, in a format that might, one day, be considered as cool as vinyl.

Artwork by Joe Alderson, photography by Sophie Traynor.

about

We've played all over the UK, and one of our favourite places is the Isle of Wight. Getting on the Red Funnel ferry, having a beer after a long drive down, and smelling the diesel mixed with sea air is the base of this song.

The Crossing goes a bit further though - it's about all of those early morning ferry crossings. It's about the soldiers who made the Channel crossing on D Day, the truckers, the tourists, the migrants and the wanderers!

It's definitely one of our more bluesy songs, with a cracking guitar solo from Mr Haydock, backed by a roomier rhythm sound from Bob and James.
